First released on July 6, the app Pokémon Go has taken over the nation … or at least the nation’s smartphones. The game is so popular it’s  overtaken Tinder as the most downloaded app on Androids. It’s even exceeded Twitter usage in America.

It seems that “Netflix and chill” has morphed into “Pokémon Go and chill;” The app has even been credited with helping some overcome social anxiety. At the same time, Pokémon Go has led to a variety of creepy incidents and encounters reported by users. From the abundance of Pokémon located in graveyards or other seedy areas, to the crimes the app has helped users both perpetrate and solve, here are the most unsettling Pokémon Go episodes so far.


Pokémon Go Helps Police Apprehend a Murder Suspect

In California, a student and his roommates were playing the game when they noticed a suspicious looking man approach a woman and her children. They stayed calm, and the suspect is now in custody. READ MORE
